Credits
Animal Detect uses one shared credit system across the platform and the API. Credits scale with actual workload so the same billing model covers GUI image processing and programmatic API usage.
How credits are counted
- 1 image processed through the platform pipeline = 1 credit
- 1 standard API inference request = 1 credit
/api/v1/batch-detect= 1 credit per image in the batch- Reference endpoints are free
Plans
Animal Detect is a subscription based service with permanent free plan and paid options that increase usage quotas and provide more resources for larger operations. Full plan comparison lives on the pricing page.

Paid plans also raise your project and deployment limits and increase API request capacity, but API access itself is available on Public as well.

- Public: up to 2 projects and 5 deployments
- Core: up to 10 projects and 50 deployments
- Growth: unlimited projects and deployments
Annual billing
Annual subscriptions grant all yearly credits upfront. If you upgrade an annual plan, the annual cycle resets immediately and the yearly credit allowance refreshes on the new plan.
Top-ups
Users can buy extra credits on their current plan. Credits never expire and are consumed after monthly or annual credits are fully used up. Top-up credits are meant to get you to your goal without forcing an unnecessary plan upgrade, especially for bulk jobs.

Grace
We understand things get busy. If you unexpectedly hit your credit limit, we will not cut off your API usage immediately. A short grace period of 5% for up to 4 days helps cover you while we email a reminder that you are reaching your limit.
